THE DONUT 10
21st NOVEMBER 2014 MUSHRIF PARK FINAL RACE DAY INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for entering the Mirdif Milers 10 Mile road Race, the Donut 10. Entries have now closed and the race is sold out. .

Please find below the final race day instructions.
Please also note the change in the allocated Bib numbers. LOCATION

The race will be held at Mushrif park, Dubai, past Mirdif on the Al Khawaneej Road. We have a special dispensation to enter the park from 0530 onwards. As no member of the Park department will be on duty a member of the Mirdif Milers will be collecting the Municipality park fee of AED 10 per car on their behalf at the entrance to the Park.

The Park should only be entered from the Main Gate entrance from Al Khawaneej Road, please do not try to enter from any other entrance as this will be the only gate open before the race commences.

Parking will be at the far end of the entrance road, just keep going after you enter the Park until you reach a T junction. Park in the car park in front of you. There will be a steward at the entrance of the correct car park.

THE RACE

The race will commence at 0700. Runners who finish in less than 60 minutes will receive a gold medal, less than 75 minutes a Silver medal, all other finishers a Bronze medal. Saucony technical race T shirts will also be handed out to all finishers at the end of the race as well as refreshments.

There will be a pre race briefing at 6.45am in the car park adjacent to the finish area.

NUMBER COLLECTION

Number collection will be on the morning of the race between 5:30am and 6:40am at the car park adjacent to the finish. Please come early.

There has been a change to the bib numbers allocated previously. The new bib numbers can be viewed from the DOWNLOAD section of the event page on www.premieronline.com

THE COURSE

The race is 10 Miles and the course will be marked in MILES, 1 mile is 1.61K. 10 Miles is 16.08K.

The Race route will be a 3 lap traffic free course. The race will commence on the roadway within the park for approximately 2 miles before turning onto the cycle path where runners will complete 3 full laps of the park.

A map of the course can be viewed on the event page on www.premieronline.com and at our website www.mirdifmilers.info .

Please note that the course is not closed to the general public and there may be cyclists and other runners on the track, in general please run on the right hand side while on the cycle path.

An ambulance and first aiders will be available on the course in the unlikely event that someone needs medical attention.

WATER STATIONS

There will be 2 water stations on each lap of the course positioned approximately 2.5 K apart, the first water station will distribute water and a sports drink, the second water station will distribute water only.

PRIZES

Trophies & Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 Male and Female Open finishers and first 3 Male and Female Veteran finishers in both the +45 and +50 categories.

Team prizes will be awarded as follows (each team to consist of 5 runners including at least 1 female)

1. Thefirstfivemembersofarunningclubtocrossthefinishlineunder the age of 45 on race day (1st, 2nd and 3rd, Open)

2. Thefirstfivemembersofarunningclubtocrossthefinishlineaged45 or over on race day (1st, 2nd and 3rd , Veterans)

Only runners who have entered their club on the entry form will be eligible for the above purposes.

Prize giving will be at the finish area at about 0900.

A raffle draw will also be made during the prize giving. There is no need to hand in you number for this, the draw will be made randomly from the finishers, however you need to be present at the prize giving to win the raffle.

TOILETS & SHOWERS

There are two toilet blocks approximately 400 metres from the finish area. There are no showers available.

DONUTS

There will be Donuts available in the finish areas

T SHIRTS

Race T shirts will be distributed at the finish to all finishers. A huge thanks to Saucony for providing this years T shirts.

LAST MINUTE ANNOUNCEMENTS

The night before last years event we had some serious storms in Dubai which caused extensive flooding and placed a lot of doubt in peoples minds on whether the race would go ahead or not, fortunately we still managed to keep the race on. It was difficult to keep everyone informed of what was going on so this year we would urge everyone to join our facebook page so that you can keep updated with any last minute announcements.

We meet at 1855 every Monday at the Main gate to Mushrif Park for a choice of run between 5K, 9K and 13K, all levels are welcome. (You will need a smile and AED 3 for park entry).

    I think I’ve missed the registration date, I thought it was tomorrow, have just gone onto Premier Online but it’s gone! Are there any race day entries available?! I hope so!
